Philip and Frannie Leach are potters who belong to the great West Country dynasty of Leaches, and are based in Hartland in North Devon. Philip is grandson of the legendary Bernard Leach, and son of the late Michael Leach, in whose pottery Frannie was trained. Frannie also studied in New York, and Philip spent six years in Iran, where he was involved in setting up student workshops. Married in 1977, they opened their Springfield Pottery two years later.
